Our own team and equipment
Consecutive, whispered and escort
No equipment at all. For short meetings, interviews, small visits and situations where interpretation can alternate with speech.
- Pairs
- English → Portuguese · Portuguese → English · Portuguese → Spanish · Spanish → Portuguese
The three modes
Consecutive. The speaker talks for a stretch, pauses, and the interpreter renders it. It doubles the length of the meeting, but needs no equipment at all and works anywhere — including standing up in the middle of a building site.
Whispered (chuchotage). The interpreter sits beside one or two people and renders in a very low voice, in real time. It works for up to two people. Above that it does not: the voice would have to rise enough to disturb the table.
Escort. The interpreter accompanies the person or delegation through the day — visit, lunch, transfer, meeting — switching between consecutive and whispered as the situation requires.
When to choose this over simultaneous
- Meetings of up to two hours with few participants
- Interviews, depositions, legal meetings
- Site visits with two or three visitors
- Dinners, receptions, transfers
- Any situation where doubling the running time is not a problem
If the event has a tight agenda, a lot of people listening, or cannot run to twice the length, the answer is simultaneous — portable or with a booth, depending on the room.
What is included
The interpreter, and nothing else. No equipment, no rigging, no logistics. It is the simplest mode to book and the least expensive, when the format allows it.
